Ask A Question

What will happen to my investment in an OZ if the 2020 census changed the boundaries of the tract where my project is located?

Only half of the area is now located within the boundaries. What will happen with my investment? Will the rest be grandfathered in?

Yes, it ought to be grandfathered in. Any changes to the OZs because of the 2020 census ought to be prospective, not retroactive.

Guidance has now been released that qualification will resort back to 2010 census tracts and it will not be impacted by the 2020 changes.
