Valerie Grunduski is a certified public accountant. She is currently a tax associate at Plante & Moran in Detroit, where she has worked since 2004.
Grunduski, a real estate tax specialist with more than 14 years of experience, is also a senior manager and leader of Plante & Moran’s Opportunity Zones practice, providing consulting services for funds, developers and investors. She has experience working with multi-entity tax engagements, including residential and commercial property portfolios, real estate investment trusts, investment funds and family-owned real estate developers.
Her tax experience includes consultancy work related to real estate professionals, partnership restructuring, cancellation of debt planning, partner buy-outs and redemptions, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits and low-income housing tax credits. She also has experience handling Internal Revenue Service and state tax audits.
Before joining Plante & Moran in 2004, Grunduski was an intern with Cargill and the United States Department of the Army.
Grunduski is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Detroit Economic Club. She is an active participant in Commercial Real Estate Women Detroit. Grunduski received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business.
