Can I get additional tax deductions if I invest in an Opportunity Zone with ESG initiatives?

Do certain states encourage investors to do more ESG friendly investments and offer additional incentives?

At federal level, and related to OZ, I am not aware of additional benefits. You may need to verify the states you are interested in to determine whether they are offering incentives at the local or state level.

Probably not, unless an ESG project incidentally qualifies for other tax benefits. To my knowledge, there are no tax deductions currently available for ESG investments just because they are ESG investments. You have stuff like renewable energy tax credits that might have been available before ESG ever became a thing, but I don't think any OZ investment that happens to also be ESG would get any additional tax benefits.
