    HUD has expanded their 220 loan, expanding them to Opportunity Zones and mixed-use developments. I believe all states have additional incentives or developers for credits. If you Google that inquiry, you likely will find some charts that help describe programs more. They typically have various requirements, so focus where you think best to build and go from there.

    Several states and localities have approved additional local legislation to incentivize the construction of affordable housing. For example, PR approved Act 21 of 2019, later included in Act 60, to promote priority projects as defined. The construction of affordable housing for sale or rent qualifies as a priority project and may obtain a tax grant with special tax treatment.
