Paul Wassgren is a corporate attorney and a partner at DLA Piper, a global law firm located in more than 40 countries throughout the world.
Wassgren practices at the intersection of corporate law, real estate finance, and securities law. His clients range from individual entrepreneurs to publicly listed multinational corporations. He represents funds, sponsors, and individual and institutional investors with their transactional legal needs. Wassgren joined DLA Piper’s Los Angeles office in May 2017.
Previously, he was a partner at Fox Rothschild in Los Angeles for nearly seven years. Before that, he worked as a special counsel at Duane Morris and an associate attorney at Fennemore Craig, P.C.
Some of Wassgren’s notable projects include advising EquiAlt, LLC on the formation of its syndicated Qualified Opportunity Fund; providing tax counsel to the sponsor of a 35-story mixed use project in a Qualified Opportunity Zone in Portland, Oregon; and representing the sponsor of a series of single-asset multi-family Qualified Opportunity Funds in Los Angeles.
Wassgren holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Pepperdine University. He also earned a law degree with honors and an MBA from Oxford University in England.
