Paul Wassgren is a corporate attorney. He is currently a partner at DLA Piper, a global law firm located in more than 40 countries throughout the world.
Wassgren specializes in corporate law, real estate finance, acquisitions and securities. His clients range from individual entrepreneurs to publicly listed multinational corporations. He represents funds, sponsors, and individual and institutional investors with their transactional legal needs. Wassgren joined DLA Piper’s Los Angeles office in May 2017.
Previously, he was a partner at Fox Rothschild in Los Angeles for nearly seven years. Before that, he worked as a special counsel at Duane Morris in Philadelphia and an associate attorney at Fennemore Craig, P.C. in Phoenix.
Some of Wassgren’s notable projects include advising a People’s Republic of China-based lender in a $655-million secured loan to a NYSE-listed corporation in the mining industry; advising a Japanese publicly traded company in its acquisition of a California-based technology company; advising a development company on its 1,600-acre rail and industrial project in the Bakken oil field in North Dakota; and advising clients regarding financing for the construction of a 140,000-square-foot technology business park in Las Vegas.
Wassgren earned a bachelor’s degree at Pepperdine University. He also holds a second bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and an MBA, all from the University of Oxford.
